The series will be called Kitesurf Tour Europe (KTE). Since 2002, the Kitesurf Trophy created in Germany offers riders a highly professional platform to compete. The sanctioning of the IKA (International Kiteboarding Association) encouraged us to share this know-how with the european kiteboarding community by organising and promoting the first ever european continental championship. Therefore we are happy to share the next season with some of the most professional events in Europe.
Świnoujście is famous due to beautiful, white-sand beaches (the widest in Poland - up to 100m) and warm water (+22C). The spot works well with winds from W by N to E. The most admired direction is NE-ly during summer months enhanced by thermal wind and Gosań hill - the highest Polish cliff. When the high pressure stabilises above Scandinavia there is a chance for two weeks of NE-ly 25kts every afternoon while no wind blows anywhere else at Southern Baltic coast! This thermal wind combined with 1,3km harbour breakwater provides excellent conditions for everyone: perfect flat water and long waves (up to 4m) for frontside riding at the same spot! There is no tidal current, no tides, no shorebreak and on top of that low salt water. Some current might be running with strong W-ly gales. Ferries entering or leaving the harbour might disrupt the wind flow but they will provide magnificent background in the picture. Behind the dunes runs a new built promenade with numerous restaurants, pubs and bars.
For all competitors we have a special offer for renting apartments in villa Nautilius apartamenty-nautilus.pl. The price is 60 PLN per person per night. 4-5 person apartments. Villa offers Jacuzzi, sauna and swimming pool which is including in the apartment cost.
Swinoujscie is famous for his beach with lots of flat water due to the the shallow ocean line. The Kitesurf Tour Europe takes place in the last weekend of the Polish summer holiday.Thousands of tourists are expected as at the same time 40th International Artistic Campus FAMA will be performed.
Kitesurf Tour Europe means
for the kiteboarding community: More riding with less travel but reasonable price money and media presence. More international events to promote the sport also on national level.
for the sponsors: The series offers more kiteboarding with less costs but more media presence due to the newly established national identification of professional athletes with their home countries and TV-spectators.
The Championship is designed to host the best riders of Europe and is "international open"
